The WNCC Financial Aid Office is committed to helping students understand the intricacies of financial aid and providing them with as many funding opportunities as possible.

We recognize that every student's situation is unique and we strive to help you meet your financial needs and attain your educational goals.

Western Nebraska Community College students received more than $6 million in aid during the current academic year, including:

  • More than $2.4 million in federal and state grants
  • Nearly $1.6 million in scholarships
  • More than $190,000 in earnings from work study jobs and other campus employment.

Aug. 2-Sept. 3: Book charges to student accounts allowed for qualifying students


Aug. 18: First day of Fall semester classes


Aug. 24: Last day for no penalty drop/add for full semester classes


Sept. 1: WNCC scholarship application deadline for Fall only application


Sept. 10: First disbursement of financial aid


Sept. 24: First disbursement of Stafford loans for first-time borrowers


Oct. 13: Second quarter classes begin


Oct. 22: Second disbursement of loans for fall semester-only borrowers


Oct. 22: Last day to withdraw from regular classes


Nov. 11: Spring semester registration begins


Nov. 15: WNCC scholarship application for Spring only application


Dec. 9: Last day of Fall semester classes


Dec. 10-14: Final exams


Dec. 17: Grades posted


Dec. 22-24: Satisfactory Academic Progress calculated and letters sent
